Briga Heelan is an American actress. She was born in Andover, Massachusetts on April 2, 1987 to her parents Kimball and Kevin Heelan. Heelan was raised alongside her brother Connor in Essex county where she attended Andover High School. At that time Heelan began considering a career in musical theater. With that purpose in mind she went to the Walnut Hill School for the Arts and later studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Heelan only stayed a year having realized the stage wasn’t for her and transferred to the University of Southern California. In 2011 she made her television debut on the short lived ABC sitcom “Man Up.” Over the next few years she landed a number of guest parts on tv shows including the series “Jane by Design.” In 2012 she had her breakout role as “Holly” on “Cougar Town” from producer Bill Lawrence (“Scrubs”). After several appearances on that show Lawrence cast her both as the female lead on his 2015 TBS comedy “Ground Floor” and a recurring character on his NBC sitcom “Undatable.” She began a relationship with her “Ground Floor” co-star Rene Gube whom she eventually married and had a daughter with. Gube would go on to become an executive story editor/writer and series regular (as "Father Brah") on The CW series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend." Before the debut of her NBC sitcom "Great News" Heelan guest starred on "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" as Connie Cavanagh in Season One.
