Britney Young is an American actress. She was born in 1988 in Tokyo, Japan to a white mother named Fred and a black father, a former professional basketball player from Georgia. Young, along with her siblings, lived with her parents overseas until the age of 9 when her family moved back to America. They settled in the small town of Eagle River, Alaska and at first she had hard time acclimating to the new environment. Although she was bullied in elementary school she eventually excelled in high school becoming popular and winning homecoming princess several times. From there she went on to earn a college degree from USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles, California. Young then pursued a career in entertainment landing a few parts on various TV shows. She also found behind the scenes becoming a production assistant on films "Joyful Noise" and "BPRD." In 2015 she worked on the first season of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" as assistant to show runners Rachel Bloom and Aline Brosh McKenna. She also appeared on the show as the character Nicky and is set to reprise the role in Season Four. In 2016 she was cast in her best known role to date on the Netflix series "GLOW" as the female wrestler "Carmen Wade" aka "Machu Picchu."
