Stanford University is a real life prestigious research university located in Stanford, California in the Silicon Valley. The university was founded in 1885 by Leland and Jane Stanford in memory of their only child, Leland Stanford Jr. The university has forty academic departments at both undergraduate and graduate levels. It boasts four professional schools that focus on graduate programs in Law, Medicine, Education and Business. Within the narrative of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” the main character of Nathaniel Plimpton III is a graduate of the school. It’s first mention was in the Season Three episode ”When Do I Get to Spend Time With Josh?”.
